Sev1Tech Receives its ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Certification
Sev1Tech receives its ISO 14001:2015 certification after implementing new company-wide emission-mitigating programs.
WOODBRIDGE, Va., May 30, 2023 — Sev1Tech, a leader in providing information technology, engineering and science, is proud to announce that it received its ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Certification after passing an audit on its Environmental Management System (EMS) and Green House Gas (GHG) reduction programs.
ISO 14001:2015 is a global system that enhances companies’ performance environmentally. It requires environmental management systems to meet specific criteria and standards determined by an audit from the International Management Systems Marketing (IMSM) before being awarded the certification. The IMSM is an organization officially recognized as leading ISO specialists and consultants by the International Organization for Standardization.
Sev1Tech began its efforts to turn towards greener alternatives by solidifying a formal Sev1Green program. The company has been dedicated to sustainable practices since its founding in 2010, but with a rapid increase in employees, it understood it had to upgrade, evolve and actively set those practices into place.
“This ISO codifies our program for improving our Environmental Management System and Green House Gas Emissions reductions,” said Bob Lohfeld, CEO of Sev1Tech. “This certification adds to our arsenal of differentiators as we compete on more extensive opportunities that require and/or reward companies moving on a greener path.”
Three scopes make up Sev1Tech’s EMS and GHG reduction programs. The first includes limiting the use of company transit, and the second is the careful consideration of purchases such as HVAC, refrigeration and lighting for its facilities across the US. The third scope involves Sev1Tech investing in employee training and education regarding the recycling of waste and composting.
This certification is an important addition to Sev1Tech as it shows the company’s dedication to providing services to its customers in a sustainable way. The EMS and GHG reduction programs help Sev1Tech maintain a reasonable, responsible amount of emissions considering the size of the company to continue its long-standing endeavor towards a greener tomorrow.
